Strategic Planning

In our lecture on 9/20/11, Charlie spoke to us about the principle in management of strategic planning. For any goal-setter, you have to know where you are (now) to determine where you are going. This is especially true for companies and businesses. This is the purpose for a "vision statement" and a "mission statement". The vision statement lays out the goals in front of the company of where they want to be in a year, 5 years, or more. The mission statement is the purpose and views that are the company's standards. The vision statement must be in tune with the company's mission. Hopefully it will possess the "boldness" of this Dilbert clip without the flakiness of the bosses view on strategic planning. enjoy.

Horrible Bosses

Everyone has a horrible boss at some point throughout their careers, but how do you deal with it? For one thing, not like they do in this movie. This should give you a good laugh!

"Cyanide in Tylenol"

Taking a business law class over the summer, I thought I had heard all the laws and examples associated with ethics in business....not this one. When Charlie brought up the "Tylenol crisis" of the early 1980's last week, I immediately wanted to find out more about it, because I had never heard of this in my entire life (predominately I'm sure because it was before my lifetime and by the time I was born it was soo 5 minutes ago.). Anyways, attempting to expand on the issue I searched deep into google to uncover something about the topic Charlie DIDN'T cover in class, but instead came up with this. Not really new information, but it will promote a few chuckles and since it is relative...I thought I would be kind and share. Your welcome.
