how NOT to land a job. (ch.9)
It is important to be prepared to be asked questions concerning your knowledge, skills (experience), and abilities (KSA's). It is apparent that this interviewee neither has the KSA's or the report/reliability to get this job.

Corporate Strategy
The topic of Corporate Strategy intrigued me because it's argument was how a company could be unique and remain competitive in a rapidly changing environment. Intel Corporation deals with competition on a daily basis because it is constantly challenged by new technologies. They someone how a competitive advantage in the industry mainly due to the corporate strategy and the fact that they have power because there are many suppliers that rely on them for business. The following corporate strategy was taken off of their website:
"Our goal is to be the preeminent provider of semiconductor chips and platforms for the worldwide digital economy. As part of our overall strategy to compete in each relevant market segment, we use our core competencies in the design and manufacture of integrated circuits, as well as our financial resources, global presence, and brand recognition. We believe that we have the scale, capacity, and global reach to establish new technologies and respond to customers’ needs quickly."
Pretty nifty, don't ya think?

Wal-Mart Movies
Looks like Wal-Mart has identified a good business opportunity with the recent problem and loss of members Netflix has had. Be interesting to see how big of an impact a company like Wal-Mart will make breaking into the streaming video market.
